5 reasons this might be the only charger frequent travelers need to pack

Your hotel room has one outlet. Your bag has four chargers. There's a better way to travel.

You know the routine.

You get to the hotel, drop your bags and start unpacking chargers. One for your laptop. Another for your phone. Something for your watch. Maybe another for your AirPods or iPad.

Then you start looking for outlets.

PlugBug was designed to replace that whole routine.

It's one slim USB-C charger that can power multiple devices from a single outlet. Every PlugBug also has Apple Find My built in, and Travel versions include six international plugs for trips around the world.

Less to pack. Less to keep track of. And a much cleaner hotel nightstand.

Here are five reasons PlugBug has earned a permanent spot in so many travel bags.

The hotel has one outlet. You have four devices.

Phone. Laptop. Watch. AirPods.

By the end of a travel day, everything needs power at the same time. The problem is finding somewhere to plug it all in.

PlugBug 120 turns one outlet into four USB-C charging ports, with up to 120W of power intelligently shared between your devices.

Plug in your MacBook, iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods before bed and let one charger handle the night shift.

No rotating devices. No packing four wall chargers. No searching the room for another outlet.

One outlet. One charger. Everything ready by morning.

The charger you can't leave behind.

Hotel room. Airport lounge. Buried somewhere in your carry-on.

Chargers have a habit of disappearing when you travel.

PlugBug is the world's first power supply with Apple Find My built in. Pair it once and it appears alongside your other Find My devices, so you can locate it on a map or play a sound when it goes missing.

But there's another travel trick hiding inside.

Keep PlugBug in your carry-on or tech bag and it can help you keep tabs on the bag, too.

Find My runs on its own replaceable battery, so it keeps working even when PlugBug isn't plugged into an outlet.

It's the tracker you were already going to pack, except this one can charge your laptop, too.

One less thing to lose. Potentially one less thing to pack.

"The PlugBug is a great product, add Find My and it exceeds all expectations."

Ever moved hotel furniture just to plug in a charger?

We have.

The one available outlet is somehow always behind the nightstand, bed or sofa. And most high-powered charging bricks stick so far out from the wall that they simply don't fit.

PlugBug was designed differently.

Its ultra-slim profile sits nearly flat against the wall, while USB-C cables exit from the bottom instead of sticking straight out.

That means it can fit into tight spaces where traditional charging bricks struggle.

And when it's time to leave, the prongs fold flat so PlugBug slips neatly back into your bag.

It sounds like a small detail.

Until the only outlet in your hotel room is six inches behind the nightstand.

London Monday. Paris Thursday. Same charger.

International travel usually adds one more thing to the charger pile: adapters.

PlugBug Travel gets rid of the separate universal adapter altogether.

It includes six interchangeable plugs for the US, UK, Europe, Australia, China and Korea, all packed together with PlugBug in one compact travel case.

Choose the plug for where you've landed, attach it directly to PlugBug and charge the same devices you charged at home.

No charger plugged into an adapter plugged into an outlet.

And no digging through your bag wondering if you remembered the right one.

One charger, from departure to destination.

Stop figuring out which port is the fast one.

Ever plugged your laptop into a multi-port charger only to realize you picked the wrong USB-C port?

PlugBug takes the guesswork out of it.

Its USB-C ports dynamically distribute the available power based on what you connect. Plug in your MacBook and it knows it needs more. Add your phone, watch or AirPods and PlugBug adjusts accordingly.

There's no special laptop port to remember.

There's a lot of charging technology happening inside PlugBug.

You don't really have to think about any of it.

Plug in. Charge. Get on with your trip.

Twelve South's published diagram of PlugBug 50 and PlugBug 120 output: 50W or 120W total, splitting dynamically across the ports based on the power need of connected devices

PlugBug 120 provides up to 120W total output shared between connected devices.

What one PlugBug can replace

Think about what normally goes into your tech pouch before a trip.

  • Laptop charger
  • Phone charger
  • Extra charging bricks
  • International adapter Travel versions
  • Separate tracker for your tech bag Apple Find My built in

Now replace the pile with one PlugBug.

That's the real reason it makes sense for travel.

It's not another charger to pack. It's the charger that lets you pack less.

Questions

Before you buy

PlugBug or PlugBug Travel?

If most of your travel is within the US, standard PlugBug gives you the same core charging experience for less. If international travel is on your calendar, PlugBug Travel includes six interchangeable plugs for the US, UK, Europe, Australia, China and Korea.

Do all four devices get 120W?

No. PlugBug 120 provides up to 120W total, intelligently shared between connected devices. Higher-powered devices like a MacBook receive more power while smaller devices take what they need.

Does Find My work when PlugBug isn't plugged in?

Yes. Find My has its own replaceable battery, so PlugBug remains findable while unplugged and sitting inside your bag.

Does PlugBug work with non-Apple devices?

Yes. PlugBug can charge compatible USB-C devices regardless of brand. Apple Find My requires an Apple device, but charging does not.

Why not just buy a cheaper multi-port charger?

If all you need is a basic charger for your phone, you can.

PlugBug is designed for travelers who want one device to do more: charge multiple devices, power a laptop, fit into difficult outlets, work internationally with PlugBug Travel and add Apple Find My without packing another tracker.

The value isn't in adding another charger to your bag. It's in how many things you can take out.

Pack one charger.

From a weekend away to a trip around the world, there's a PlugBug built to travel with you.
